FAQ · BRISTOL, TN
Questions worth asking before you sign anything.
The honest answers. What stays yours, what you pay, what happens when you leave, and what we actually do when something breaks. No legal pages, no asterisks.
01 · The basics
What stays mine?
Your domain, your content, your branding, and the website content we write for your business all stay yours. We point your domain at our hosting while you're with us, and we point it back at whatever you want the day you leave.
You can also leave with a standalone export of your site to host elsewhere. What stays ours is the reusable engine, components, tools, and infrastructure we built it on. Your stuff is yours; our toolkit is ours. More on how we build local in Bristol on the web design page.
01 · The basics
What happens if I cancel?
Future renewals stop, and service ends after the period you've already paid for. You keep your domain, your content, and your branding, and you receive a standalone export of your site to take with you. The written terms cover billing, cancellation, ownership, and support in full.
The part we run for you, the hosting and connected services like payments and forms, gets shut down, so those may need reconfiguring on your own or with someone else. No hostage situation, no fight to get your stuff.
01 · The basics
Am I locked in?
Month to month, no long-term commitment. Written terms govern the recurring billing, cancellation, ownership, and support, so it's all on paper, but there's no minimum term keeping you in. People stay because the site keeps working for them, not because we trapped them. Same idea behind how we build for small Bristol businesses: month to month, stay because it works.
If we ever feel the urge to write a 24-month minimum into the paperwork, please slap us.
02 · Money & timeline
How much does this cost?
$199 a month. $0 upfront. One flat plan, no build fee. You see a private working preview before you pay anything, and your first monthly payment is what activates the public site. After that it covers the custom site, hosting, maintenance, monitoring, and the supported updates you ask for.
No proposal full of line items, no scope creep, no surprise invoice. Our hosting is included; things like your own domain, payment processing fees, premium third-party tools, and major add-ons such as complex ecommerce, custom applications, full branding, or heavy content work are priced before they begin, so you always agree to a number first.
02 · Money & timeline
What's included, and what counts as a page?
Up to five standard pages with a custom, mobile-responsive design, website copy we write from the facts you give us, a private preview before payment, two consolidated feedback rounds before launch, plus hosting, maintenance, monitoring, supported updates, and practical search, accessibility, and performance setup. See more on the small business plan page.
A page is one route with one main job, like Home, Services, or Contact. Large catalogs, big libraries, or complex functions may need custom scope. You don't need an existing site or finished copy to start, we can replace an outdated site or build from scratch and write concise copy from facts you confirm; deeper naming, identity, or research-heavy writing may cost extra. It's not a retainer we hope you never use, it's the boring stuff that quietly keeps the site working while you run your business.
02 · Money & timeline
How long does it take, and how many changes are included?
We generally target your first private preview about seven days after your content is ready and building begins. A standard launch is usually within one to two weeks, though content, access, feedback, and technical dependencies can extend that. Two consolidated feedback rounds are included before you go live.
We give you a target date up front. If something is going to slip, you hear about it from us before you would notice.
03 · After we launch
What if my site has a problem?
Monitoring is part of the plan, so a problem usually reaches us before it reaches you. We don't promise round-the-clock coverage or instant self-healing, but watching the site and stepping in when something breaks is the job we signed up for.
If something needs a human, we get on it. You can reach us too, at 423-943-0812.
03 · After we launch
Who updates the site, and how fast?
We do, while you're subscribed. New menu item, new hours, swap a photo, post an event, fix a typo. You email us, we do it. No tickets, no upcharges, no editor to learn, or just send us what you're thinking.
Ordinary requests are generally handled within two business days after we have what we need, and small ones same-day when it's practical. Those are targets, not guarantees, and major redesigns or custom development are separate scope. It's all included in the flat monthly, so the site stays current without you having to think about it.
04 · Switching & connecting
Will my Google rankings change if I switch?
We migrate carefully, and this is the part we obsess over. We map every old URL to a new one, keep your meta and content structure intact, and run the cutover at a low-traffic hour. More on the migration approach lives on the web design page.
What we won't do is promise a ranking, a traffic number, or a recovery timeline, because search results depend on a lot we don't control. We do the migration the right way and let the work speak for itself.
04 · Switching & connecting
Can it connect to my tools, and can I self-edit?
Often, yes. Supported simple booking, ordering, forms, or payments may fit the standard plan. More complex systems need a closer look from Benny and may be custom-priced, so we tell you up front whether something is a quick job, a "let's talk," or a "honestly, here's an alternative." No bluffing.
The standard plan is managed by us, you email a change and we make it, which is the whole point. If you'd rather edit the site yourself, that routes to a separately scoped Platform Build.
